OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has announced launching a single pool of numbers. This will let the company offer a wider choice of numbers and increase sales in online channel. The project has already been launched in 16 Russian regions.

Thanks to a single pool of numbers, customers got access to all phone numbers on sale in Tele2 online shop. Tele2 used to select a phone number from the list attached to a certain town. This has considerably limited consumer choice and made a purchase less comfortable.

Prior to introducing a single pool of numbers, dealers bought out a certain number of SIM cards with phone numbers connected. For this reason, dealers withdrew funds from cash assets turnover to purchase inventories. Now Tele2 partners receive SIM card samples and numbers get connected only when orders arrive in online shop. This change allows dealers sustain a wide range of goods without a need to buy many SIM cards in advance.

To effectively carry out a launch, Tele2 Russia is gradually introducing a single pool of numbers in all Tele2-penetrated regions. On average, the project is monthly joined by five regions. Tele2 is planning to have completed the project by the end of 2013.

Roman Volodin, Tele2 Russia chief commercial officer:

"Launching a single pool of number helped us solve two important tasks. First, regions with the project already launched showed an increase in orders by 30% on average. Second, we managed to offer our customers a wider choice. Now each customer may find a number that he likes".
