OREANDA-NEWS. The completion of this installation task enabled the progress of further work, such as construction of covering at level +14.500.

Completion of this work means that the constructors can continue mounting and constructing up to level +26.000. Besides, now JSC MSU-90 will be able to start mounting reactor equipment (including reactor vessel) using the cut-n-cover method, without having to use the polar crane or other industrial heavy-duty equipment.

A reload well is one of the key pieces of equipment. It contains cooling ponds and reload fuel assemblies for temporary storage of nuclear reactor's spent fuel.

The basic technical specifications of the reload well are as follows. Weight: 9 tons, height: 15 meters, diameter: 3 meters. The reload well was manufactured completely using the labour and manufacturing capacities of JSC MSU-90.
