OREANDA-NEWS. Vladimir Salamatov, Director General of the World Trade Center Moscow, made ??a presentation at the international conference "Rolling Stock Engineering. Prospects, Technology, Priorities", which took place in the framework of the 4th International Rail Salon EXPO 1520.

The ceremonial opening of the Salon took place on September 11, in Moscow satellite town Scherbinka. The event was organized by JSC Russian Railways. In 2013, the issues of the conference agenda include creating innovative railway products, standardization, lean manufacturing, engineering, and efficient use of resources in the field of transport engineering.

Within the framework of the Salon, the annual international conference "Rolling Stock Engineering. Prospects, Technology, Priorities" takes place. The conference, which will last until September 13, is being attended by about 800 representatives of the professional community.

In the course of the discussion, Vladimir Salamatov made ??a presentation "Globalization processes in the railway industry: manufacturers in the new business relationship environment", which constitutes a part of the program of the conference "Rolling Stock Engineering. Prospects, Technology, Priorities".

The discussion has touched upon the issues of acceleration of capabilities of innovative development and competitiveness enhancement of engineering companies in the framework of international alliances, pooling the research and production assets and managerial resources of the manufacturers of 1520 and 1435 mm gauge systems for localization of the production of a new generation of the rolling stock, harmonization of the requirements in the course of localization of the production and operation of the new generation rolling stock in the Russian Federation, new incentives to enhance business efficiency for the 1520mm gauge manufacturers under the international standard IRIS, intellectual property protection and registration of joint patents during the production localization process. Valentin Gapanovich, Senior Vice President, Innovation-based Development - Chief Engineer of JSC RZD, President of the NP "OPZHT" (Non-profit Partnership Association of Railway Vehicle Manufacturers) was the moderator of the event.

"After the Russia's Accession to the WTO, new development prospects became wide open for the Russia's engineering and railway sectors, both in terms of technology upgrade, and in terms of the market expansion," said V. Salamatov. He noted that in accordance with the development scheme of the high speed rail transport till 2020-2030, the implementation of the "innovative" plan for 8 years, from 2013 to 2020, will require 2.822 trillion rubles, or 352.8 billion rubles annually.

Speaking to delegates, V. Salamatov introduced the participants with progress of the development of railway transport technical regulation, and the problems with implementation of technical regulations of the Customs Union.
