OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2013. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has promised government support to joint Ukrainian-Dutch projects in agriculture. The Head of Ukrainian Government said this at a meeting with management of companies of agricultural sector in the Netherlands.

"I hope that our meeting will lead to the implementation of joint projects. It is important to not only be familiar with one another, it is important to be able to agree on the implementation of large-scale long-term projects. I want to assure you that the Government of Ukraine to support the implementation of such projects," Mykola Azarov said.

However, he stressed that the perspective, in particular, is cooperation in livestock and processing industry. "We are ready at the state level to support the implementation of joint projects," the Prime Minister said.

In turn, representatives of the Netherlands’ agribusiness noted that Ukraine has extremely fertile soil, while the Netherlands has a highly developed technology in agriculture, and therefore cooperation between Ukrainian and Dutch farmers are extremely promising and beneficial to both countries. However, representatives of agricultural sector of Netherlands have indicated that they are opposed to artificial restrictions on trade, as open market promotes competition and innovation and so on.
