OREANDA-NEWS. As in previous years, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) joined the nation in celebrating Hindi Fortnight. With a view to encourage widespread use of Hindi as the official language in day-to-day activities and inspire the non-Hindi speaking employees to work towards publicizing Hindi in official works, NALCO celebrated Hindi Fortnight from 2nd September to 16th September. During the fortnight, different competitions like essay writing, debate, noting and quiz etc. were organized among the employees at NALCO's Corporate Office at Bhubaneswar. The closing ceremony of the programme was held today.

Shri Ansuman Das, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NALCO, graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest and gave away prizes to the winners of different competitions. On this occasion, under Late Shankar Dayal Singh Smruti Puraskar scheme, Shri Chirantan Shyam, Operations Dept., CPP and Shri P.K. Mohanty, Mechanical Dept., Smelter were awarded in Hindi speaking and non Hindi speaking categories respectively. Shri S.C. Padhy, Director (HR), Shri N.R. Mohanty, Director (P&T) and Shri A.K. Sahu, Executive Director (H&A) were also present on this occasion. Shri Sudarshan Tarai, AGM(Rajbhasha), coordinated the programme. Shri Harirama Pansari, Manager (Rajbhasha), proposed a vote of thanks.
