OREANDA-NEWS. TEM19 and TEM35 shunting locomotives manufactured by Bryansk Engineering Plant (BMZ, subsidiary of JSC Transmashholding) won in the Best Rail Engineering Innovation competition.

The competition is organized by the engineering industry organization - Association of railway equipment manufacturers. The awarding ceremony took place as part of the largest dedicated forum of transport engineering enterprises - at the IV International Rail Salon of engineering and technologies EXPO 1520 in Shcherbinka.

The first and the second places in the category 'Locomotives and Multiple-Unit Trains' were taken by gas-operated TEM19 locomotive and a shunting diesel locomotive with hybrid power equipment - TEM35. Technical features of these locomotives allow to save fuel and to reduce harmful emissions by half or twice. Locomotive design is based on module principle thus providing for production costs going down. Main configuration elements are unified against each other. Application of rolling axle-bearings makes the maintenance of wheel-and-motor blocks unnecessary for the operational procedure. The diesel locomotives are equipped by complex safety related systems. Due to state-of-the-art noise insulation materials and cab package glazing, the driver's working environment is improved, general noise level is reduced. The cab is distinguished by an internal environment system and elaborated ergonomics.

General Director of BMZ, Mr. Alexandr Vasilenko received diplomas and cash bonus certificates. During the next months, the designer team has to perform testing and to obtain conformity certificates for the innovative locomotives.
