OREANDA-NEWS. Moscow Domodedovo Airport is a partner of the 15th General Assembly of the Organization of Asia - Pacific News Agencies (OANA). On September 18-22, 2013, the capital of Russia will host the summit which will bring together the leaders of the Organization of Asia - Pacific News Agencies and representatives of major international organizations.

Guests from all over the world, including those from Vietnam, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Lebanon, the Philippines, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, arrived at Domodedovo. At the airport, the OANA members were welcomed by their Russian colleagues from the Information Telegraph Agency (ITAR-TASS) which became the chairman of the Association last November. “It is a great honor for us and an important event for our entire country to host the OANA General Assembly. We are grateful to Domodedovo Airport for their support in organizing the meeting of the guests and participants of the event,” said Mikhail Gusman, First Deputy General Director of ITAR-TASS.

OANA is the world's largest media organization: bringing together 44 news agencies from 35 countries, it generates two-thirds of total global information flow. The General Assembly is the supreme governing body of the Association, its meetings are held every three years.

Russia has become the summit host for the second time, for the first time the OANA members convened in Moscow in 2000. More than a hundred people from forty-five countries will become participants of the 15th General Assembly of the Organization. The heads of regional news agencies and representatives of international organizations will discuss several topics: the main trends and role of media in the globalization era, main problems and possibilities of transmedia communications, global and regional factors in transformation of the modern media market. The meeting in Moscow will become a platform for discussing many other important issues of the APR media space.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport provides support for this international event being of great importance not only for representatives of the media sphere but also for the whole country.
