OREANDA-NEWS. For the first time in the history of the Russian business, Bashneft was ranked in the top ten global TSR performers and topped the industry ranking of global oil companies with the highest total shareholder return based on the 15th annual report of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a leading global management consulting firm

The BCG report is based on an analysis of the Total Shareholder Return (TSR) index, which reflects changes in the weighted average total shareholder return over a five-year period (from 2008 through 2012) along the following dimensions: revenue, the EBITDA margin, the EBITDA multiple, dividend yield, share repurchases and repayment of debt. The TSR index is a well-established criterion used by investors for assessing return on investment and formulating their investment strategy. The BCG rankings include a total of 1,616 companies in 25 industries.

Bashneft was ranked ninth in the Global Top Ten rankings, with its TSR index at 52.7%. Until now, Russian companies were included only in industry samples in the BCG report and in the market capitalization ranking.
