OREANDA-NEWS.  September 23, 2013. The Secretary General of the UNESCO National Commission of Moldova, composer Constantin Rusnac has participated in an international conference entitled: „The Internet and social and cultural transformations in the information society”.

The event took place in Sakhalin, the Russian Federation, and brought together representatives from over 40 countries.

Rusnac stressed that few plenary and panel meetings were organised, focused on social and cultural transformations in the information society, the linguistic issue, etc.

As regards the internet situation in Moldova, Rusnac in particular referred to its positive and negative influence on youngsters.

”We have to be glad that young people and teenagers have access to knowledge, which the internet provides worldwide. At the same time, some filters, that would stop access, especially of minors, to pornographic information and to that of other type that negatively influences on youth, are needed,” a Rusnac said.

Representatives on behalf of the Moldovan southern autonomous region UTA Gagauz-Yeri also attended the conference.
