OREANDA-NEWS.  September 23, 2013. China, the world's second largest oil consumer after the U.S., imported 21.43 million metric tons of crude oil in Aug this year, 16.5% more than in the same month of last year, according to the latest figures from China's General Administration of Customs.

The crude oil imports last month were 17.9% less than the 26.11 million metric tons in Jul.

The average import price of crude oil was USD765.8 per metric ton last month, up 3.4% year on year.

The country saw its imports of oil products reach 2.57 million metric tons in Aug, up 15% year on year.

In the first eight months of this year, the country's imports of crude oil totaled 180.30 million metric tons, up 2.9% year on year.
