OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2013. New Bay Bridge, the ZPMC-constructed single-pylon self-anchored anti-seismic suspension steel bridge with the highest difficulty and the largest span in the world history of bridge, was open to traffic.

With a full length of 2.88 kilometers and a designed average daily traffic flow of 300,000 vehicles, in two-way 12-lane design, the bridge links San Francisco and Oakland, is the throat of San Francisco and can resist 8-magnitude earthquakes.

After being built up, the bridge will replace Golden Gate Bridge as San Francisco's new landmark and echo with the Statue of Liberty on the east coast of the US. ZPMC undertook the construction of the 45,000t steel structure of New Bay Bridge and delivered it in 2011 after five years' construction.

The construction of New Bay Bridge has made ZPMC a world-class bridge builder and provided strong support for ZPMC to better develop the international bridge market.
