OREANDA-NEWS. In line with its continuous efforts to improve the quality of life of its communities, Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power utility, carried out the beautification and the construction of a pathway around the Ramjanki Sarovar pond, Govindpur, in Jamshedpur.

A concrete pathway of 240m has been constructed around the pond and seating arrangements have been provided for the benefit of people. A 1.5m fencing has also been built, which protects the children playing nearby and ensures their safety. The walkway is used by women and elderly citizens for their morning and evening walks.

Speaking on the initiative, DS Kudalkar, head, Jojobera station, said, “We at Tata Power are committed to improving the quality of life of the people around our area of operations. By providing different amenities, we aim to make society a better place to live in. We’ll continue undertaking such initiatives in the future as well.”

The company had earlier rejuvenated this pond by utilising innovative methods to divert rain water from the catchment area with estimated aquifer recharge potential. This raised the ground water levels of the area resulting in availability of water in wells and hand pumps in the summer.
