OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2013. Vice Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul has held an off-site meeting in Ivano-Frankivsk on the implementation of modern energy-saving technologies in the housing and utility sector and opened a new cogeneration unit in the boiler-house.

The new cogeneration unit can produce both heat and electricity for the needs of an enterprise and the city.

"The economic impact of this project will amount to UAH 465 thousand per year. The company will focus savings on further modernization," Olexandr Vilkul said.

Electric power of cogeneration unit is 1.4 MW and heat power - 1.7 gigacalories.

Now there are 3 cogeneration units in Ivano-Frankivsk. In total, there are 57 such units in Ukraine.
