Transaero is a leader in terms of passenger traffic between Russia and Turkey. Istanbul was the first Turkish destination in the airline's route network. Transaero commenced its charter flights to this city in 1993. Transaero carried over 7.4 million passengers between the two countries for its entire history services to Turkey. In addition to its flights to Istanbul, Transaero offers air services to Antalya from three Russian cities - Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, and Yekaterinburg. The airline also operates flights from Moscow to two more destinations in Turkey - Bodrum and Dalaman.

The carrier's new scheduled flights to Istanbul will contribute to further development of the air transportation services between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey. The airline's significant contribution to the development of the Turkish travel industry was recognized by the Award of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism earlier this year.
