OREANDA-NEWS. The forum took place on September 20 in Saint Petersburg; All-Russia Business Association “Delovaya Rossiya” (“Business Russia”) was among its initiators.

Alexey Repik reminded the historically established tradition of extensive economic and cultural partnership between Russia and India. He also mentioned that over the recent years the relationship between these two countries have entered totally new qualitative level - the level of highly privileged strategic partnership. “There is no doubt, we can expect further development of diversified fruitful collaboration in economy sectors that have already showed the mutual potential and synergy together with expansion of contacts, in particular between Russian and Indian regions” - Alexey Repik noted.

Underlining the importance of international business relationship as one of the top priorities of All-Russia Business Association “Delovaya Rossiya”, Alexey Repik laid the emphasis on the main object of business diplomacy: “We need to demonstrate to our potential partners that Russia is a right place for making business; it is the successful platform for long-term investments and joint projects”.

“The potential of economy non-resource sectors can be completely fulfilled only through the global engagement. The multi-market presence give the opportunity to attract the attention of potential investors to new international projects” - he said.

The huge mutual potential mainly in non-resource sectors as the following: pharmacy, food production, machinery, car and fertilizer manufacturing was marked in terms of joint Russian-Indian session on collaboration in spheres of modernization and industry. The representatives of specialized departments confirmed the willingness to contribute into the development of bilateral trade and investment relations.

The participants pointed the necessity to expand the relations between countries in hi-tech sectors. The main focus should be made on working out and implementation of long-term projects, contributing into innovative development of two countries. Summarizing the results of Forum Alexey Repik said: “The number of hi-tech industries for partnership should be increasing, providing positive mutual impact and defining the main course of bilateral economy development. Besides the increasing growth of number of trade operations, it is essential to focus on partnership in the field of technology transfer, co-investment in the area of advanced technologies and on participation in the joint scientific, research and educational programs”.

“The active feedback and commitment of both existing and potential Indian partners, that we see, is extremely important for the Russian companies” - the co-chairman of “Delovaya Rossiya” concluded.

Following the results of plenary session in terms of Russian-Indian Forum, the joint communique was signed, containing the suggestions and recommendations addressed to the Russian business community on establishing the bilateral trade-economy and investment collaboration.

The document was signed by the Minister of Economic Development Alexey Ulyukaev, and the Minister of Industry and Trade Anand Sharma. Further this document will be taken into consideration in the final protocol of the XIX session of the government-to-government Russian-Indian commission.
