OREANDA-NEWS. October 04, 2013. The First Vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov met with  EU Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht. The principal issue was preparation to the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius during which it is planned to sign the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. The Ukrainian party confirmed consistency of its political course towards Eurointegration.

On the request of the European party Serhiy Arbuzov briefed about trade and economic problems which exist and can appear on the way of Ukraine towards association and in the process of implementation of the Agreement.

A peculiar attention was paid to the situation which occurred in relations between Ukraine and Russia. The First Vice Prime Minister accented there exist a free will of Ukraine, aspirations to find the balance in relations with the European Union and the Russian Federation.

Apart from that, the interlocutors discussed Eurointegration draft laws Ukraine has to adopt in the course of preparation to the summit. As a Government’s member responsible for the dialog with the Parliament, Serhiy Arbuzov stressed readiness to create all necessary legislative prerequisites to ensure that Vilnius events would become the success of both Ukrainian and European politics. The words “Eurointegration” and “top-priority” appear synonyms for us, he added.
