OREANDA-NEWS. At the Overseas Contracting and Technical Consulting Sector's Assessment Meeting and Award Ceremony held with the participation of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Calik Holding subsidiaries Calik Enerji and Gap Insaat were awarded. At the ceremony hosted by Zafer Caglayan, Turkish Minister of Economy in Ankara, Calik Holding Chairman Ahmet Calik took the awards given to Calik Enerji and Gap Insaat from Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan. Calik Enerji had taken its place in the 2012 ENR (Engineering News Record) list based on 2011 figures as the 129th largest contracting company of the world. The company rose up to the 111th place in 2013. And Gap Insaat received the "Overseas Contracting Services" award.

Erdogan expressed his appreciation regarding the works of Turkish contractors that he witnessed at countries he visited. "Most recently, we saw the works of some of our companies in Turkmenistan." said Erdogan. "We attended the groundbreaking ceremony of 1.5 billion dollar worth Turkmenbashi Port project with Mr. Gurbanguli Berdimmuhamedov. The already completed and recently started works in Turkmenistan made us all proud."

Prime Minister Erdogan handed the awards of 38 contracting and 4 technical consulting companies that are named among the best 250 contracting companies of the world in the assessment made by ENR magazine for the year 2013.
