OREANDA-NEWS. Leaders and specialists from Vale made up part of the group of around 30 representatives from Brazilian and international companies that took part in the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) committee meeting on nickel and nickel alloys, including ferronickel. The committee gathers every two years to discuss and validate international standards for sampling and chemical analysis, with the aim of facilitating the trade of nickel products.

The meeting, held by the Brazilian Mining Association (IBRAM) and the Brazilian Technical Standards Association (ABNT), took place on from September 17 - 19 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The participants had the opportunity to visit our Mineral Development Centre (CDM), where they took a look at the laboratories and technology in use. The group also visited the Vale Minas Gerais Cultural Museum to find out a little more about the local culture and learn about the social and cultural projects developed by our company.

Representatives from Ca?nada, China, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Norway and Sweden attended the meeting. Vale was represented by leaders and specialists from our operational and commercial areas and from the CDM.
