OREANDA-NEWS. October 09, 2013. Ukraine is interested in increasing trade turnover with Belarus. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this at a meeting with Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich.

"We’d like in the future not only to keep, but also increase the volume of our cooperation and remove the problems that arise along the way due to inadequate or non-compliance of our legal framework. And I think that our today’s meeting will contribute to this," Mykola Azarov said.

Prime Minister stressed that last year’s trade turnover between Ukraine and Belarus was USD 7.5 billion and ranked fourth place after the trade turnover with Russia, China and Germany.

In turn, Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that Belarus is interested in enhancing cooperation in agriculture, energy, pharmaceutical industry, transport, scientific, technological and innovation cooperation.

"Now about 80 of our major businesses complement each other and produce competitive products as for domestic markets and as well as for markets of third countries: tractors, combine harvesters, and lifting equipment," Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
