OREANDA-NEWS. UPS (NYSE: UPS) today announced that Jeff McCorstin has been named president of UPS Freight Forwarding in Asia Pacific. This continues a 23-year career with UPS, where he started as a package delivery driver in California in 1990, rising to leadership roles in engineering, finance, strategy and most recently, freight forwarding. McCorstin’s appointment continues UPS's focus on strengthening its global freight forwarding offerings in Asia Pacific.

Based in Singapore, McCorstin assumes responsibilities for air, ocean, road and rail freight strategy, revenue growth, and specialized transportation services for industry verticals including healthcare, high-tech, retail and automotive across 40 countries and territories in Asia Pacific.

McCorstin said, "I am excited to lead our Freight Forwarding team in Asia Pacific and look forward to working with skilled business partners to develop a new generation of logistics leaders in Asia. We will continue to look into high-growth sectors such as healthcare, high tech, retail and automotive across Asia Pacific. By focusing on innovative ways to support the evolving needs of our customers, UPS is committed to enabling them to grow within Asia and globally."

Most recently, McCorstin was senior vice president of International Air and Ocean Freight, based in Atlanta, GA. In this role, McCorstin was instrumental in enhancing UPS Supplier Management with UPS Order Watch, a cloud-based technology platform that enables customers to collaborate with international suppliers and manage their end-to-end supply chains. McCorstin also spearheaded product and operations innovation, which resulted in UPS's signature Ocean Freight product, Preferred Less-than-Container Load (Preferred LCL).

Prior to his post as senior vice president of International Air and Ocean Freight, McCorstin attained his in-depth understanding of UPS's various business functions at UPS headquarters in Atlanta, UPS global hub Worldport in Louisville, KY, and several districts within the United States. In 2005, McCorstin relocated to Brussels, Belgium, where he was named chief financial officer of UPS Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In this position, he assumed additional responsibilities with EMEA Strategy and Shared Services. McCorstin was named managing director of UPS EMEA Freight Forwarding in 2008.

"Jeff brings with him a wealth of strategy, engineering and financial experience from Europe and North America," said Brendan Canavan, president of UPS Asia Pacific. "With his strong leadership capabilities and deep understanding of freight customers' needs, I am confident that Jeff will lead our team of talents to provide solutions that empower our Asian customers to grow."
