OREANDA-NEWS. Ural Aviation Services, an UTair Group subsidiary, has launched A-check class hangar maintenance operations for Boeing aircraft.

In September 2013, Ural Aviation Services specialists began daily inter-flight Boeing aircraft maintenance. In October this year they started offering more complex maintenance operations, including complete checks on all aircraft systems, engines, equipment and points, oil and special fluids maintenance and units replacement.

Ural Aviation Services, founded in 2012, holds MRO certification from the Bermuda Aviation Authority according to OTAR 145 and has successfully passed PART-145 of the European Aviation Safety Agency audit.

The Ural Aviation Services facilities are located on 10,000 sqm space at the Ufa International Airport. The maintenance hanger has been taken on a 20 year lease from the government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and enables round-the-clock maintenance capacity for two aircraft simultaneously with a planned expansion to increase capacity to MRO for four aircraft.

Ural Aviation Services has allocated 200 million rubles in investment for the construction of infrastructure, purchasing equipment, personnel training and internships that will facilitate MRO for aircraft of foreign manufacture. The enterprise has created 90 jobs and expects to employ up to 200-300 engineering professionals in the future.

The Republic of Bashkortostan is the third region in the Russian Federation that has achieved certification and capacity for MRO on Boeing aircraft.
