OREANDA-NEWS. The IV International Conference “Next Station 2013” will open at Moscow's Kazan railway station on 17 October 2013. The conference is dedicated to railway stations and its theme will be “Connecting Railways and Society.”

The conference “Next Station 2013” will be attended by Vladimir Yakunin, who is both President of Russian Railways and Chairman of the International Union of Railways, and Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, Director General of the International Union of Railways, as well as UN delegates, the heads of railway companies in Europe , North and South America, Africa and Asia, and experts in the field of security, high technology, business, banking, architecture and culture.

The conference will consider all the strategically important issues involved in creating, developing and operating railway stations, such as developing and financing projects, managing stations , drawing up development plans for railway stations and cities, sustainability and environmental friendliness at railway stations, station construction and design, the commercial exploitation of the floor and ground space at stations, delivering services, multimodal travel and access.

The event has been organised by Russian Railways jointly with the International Union of Railways and will be held at the luxury hall at Moscow's Kazan railway station over two days on 17 to 18 October 2013.
