OREANDA-NEWS. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revised downward the forecast for Belarus' current account deficit for 2013 to 8.3% of GDP from 5.2%; the forecast for 2014 stands at 6.7%, according to IMF's World Economic Outlook.

Belarus' GDP is projected to expand 2.1% in 2013, according to the latest outlook by the IMF. In 2014, economic growth is projected at 2.5%.

Belarus' unemployment rate will remain at 0.6% in 2013-2014.

In the meantime, according to the official forecast of the Belarusian government, the country's GDP is expected to expand by 8.5% in 2013, while inflation growth is not supposed to exceed 12%.
