OREANDA-NEWS. In November the second international e-commerce conference eCom21 will take place in Riga, where about 300 participants from the EU, CIS countries and other regions of the world are expected to take part. The forum programme includes reports and messages of the leading participants in this market.

Over a short period, the conference, which is held under the patronage of Rietumu Bank, has won the reputation of the biggest professional e-commerce forum in the Baltic region. This year the forum will be arranged in partnership with ECommPay - the global provider of online payments.

According to the eCom21 Organisation Committee, leading international players have declared their participation, such as MasterCard - the biggest processing company providing cash transfer and internet retailer payment services.

The report from a spokesperson of the Maltese regulator of the finances and capital markets MFSA Kathrin Galea is expected to be remarkable event; she will speak on the subject of licensing and requirements for providing payment services in Malta. A similarly important and substantive report is expected from a representative of the biggest international law company Clifford Chance.

Similarly to last year, this year's eCom21 conference will have a distinctively practical nature, which has already become a 'visiting card' of the Riga forum. New solutions in the IT field, as well as the prevention of fraud, e-money flow and usage, issues of the theory of law and agreement practice will be touched upon. In particular, the MasterCard spokesperson will talk about the first experience in making payments via b2c with the help of MoneySend.

As the Head of the Organisation Committee of the conference, First Vice-president of Rietumu Bank Ruslan Stecyuk noted, “Starting with this year, we have decided to choose a specific thematic industry for each eCom21. This time the title subject will be everything related to the theory of games, and pertains to the area of the theory of probability - gaming, gambling and forex. In the opinion of experts, this is one of the most interesting and topical trends of e-commerce, with enormous prospects.”

This time there will be representatives of strong players of the industry such as Poker Stars and Global Betting and Gaming Consultancy (GBGC) among the participants and speakers of the conference, who will take a direct role in discussing the issues of developing their trend of e-commerce.

Subjects related to the development of the legal environment and taxation remain among the topical issues for e-commerce. Similarly to the previous conference, Tatyana Lyutinskaya who represents Prime Consulting, a big consultant from Latvia, will be a reporter on these subjects. In her report, she will focus on the offshore reform which is currently happening in Europe and the world.

According to Dmitry Sinkovich, Head of Ecommpay, which is the general partner at this conference, “At times it is hard for an active player of the internet market to understand that only operation in a regulated space and with the observation of the existing requirements will secure a stable and long-term business. No matter how bureaucratic these requirements may seem, they largely work for the participant of the market, especially with account of the global nature of the business.”
