OREANDA-NEWS. In September 2013 Commercial Port of Vladivostok (part of FESCO Transportation Group) handled 5,712 import cars, up 39 % versus the corresponding period of the last year.

The port has made it one of the top priorities to boost Import car handling volumes. The share of Commercial Port of Vladivostok in vehicle handling activity in the Russian Far East in the first half of 2013 rose significantly and amounted to 49% (32% in 2012). Robust growth of import vehicle flows is mainly due to the high quality services provided by the port.

The Port's success in boosting car handling volumes is also attributed to the resumption of cooperation with Toyofuji Shipping Co., the operator of International shipping service Japan-Vladivostok. For the first time after five-year period of break, m/v ТransPacific 5 (Toyofuji) arrived with 100 cars aboard was discharged in Commercial Port of Vladivostok. Cars were unloaded at Car Terminal (Berth 4). The service will be on weekly basis connecting Commercial Port of Vladivostok with three Japanese ports - Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka.
