OREANDA-NEWS. October 25, Brussels, in the framework of the European Council Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Eduard Stavytskyy has initialed on behalf of the Government of Ukraine Tripartite Declaration with the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Government of Hungary on the project implementation of Adriatic Gas Corridor, which is supported by the European Commission. The object of the gas supplying has become LNG terminal that Croatia intends to construct on the Island of Krk in the Adriatic Sea (Adria LNG).

Declaration was initialed in order to increase energy security, further integration of energy systems, diversification of natural gas supplies, creating new opportunities for regional economic development through a energy infrastructure and energy markets, promote the proper functioning European energy market.

According to the European Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger, the initialing and subsequent approval of the Joint Ukrainian-Hungarian-Croatian Declaration on the establishment of the Adriatic Gas Corridor will be important to the success of the summit in Vilnius because energy is one of the most powerful locomotives of Ukraine's European integration.
