OREANDA-NEWS. The Concept for St. Petersburg separation into territorial economic zones drafted by BALT-AUDIT-EXPERT within the framework of the work for the Strategy-2030 has been approved by experts during the XII All-Russian Forum "Strategic planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia".

The XII All-Russian Forum "Strategic planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia: building a system" held on October 21-22 in St. Petersburg, has become a new site for panel discussions of the City Development Strategy up to the year 2030. The Round-Table discussions "Synthesis of socio-economic and spatial planning: St. Petersburg experience", arranged within the framework of the forum have sparked public attention to the development process of the Strategy-2030.

The Round-Table discussions were focused on the development concept for city's areas drafted by experts of BALT-AUDIT-EXPERT, the Energy Consulting Group, within the framework of drafting the Strategy-2030. Leonid Ivanovski, Management Consulting Practice Director of BALT-AUDIT-EXPERT, the Energy Consulting Group, provided the audience with preliminary results of expert work aimed at separation of territorial economic zones in the city.

This Concept was discussed by representatives of the Committee for Architecture and Urban Development, St. Petersburg General Layout Research & Development and Engineering Center, Urban Planning Laboratory, and Urban Planning Research Institute.

All experts were satisfied with an idea of the city development by virtue of territorial economic zones formation. As for the horizons of this matter, Sergei Mityagin, the Chief Architect of the Urban Planning Research Institute, in particular, remarked that "such an integrated approach will enable us to provide the city management more efficiently".
