OREANDA-NEWS. From the start of November 2013, the KfW is extending on-site inspections in relation to its Energy-Efficient Construction and Refurbishment Programmes. Projects funded by resources from the Federal Ministry for Transport, Building and Urban Development will be inspected to verify that they are being implemented in accordance with the above programmes and are fulfilling the energy requirements. To this end, borrowers and recipients of grants under the KfW Energy-efficient Construction and Refurbishment Programmes will be randomly selected and contacted to arrange a date for a site visit. The inspections will be coordinated and documented by the Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena), which won the contract for this work under a European call for tenders procedure. The inspections will be carried out by qualified inspectors from dena's regional partners, among them energie- & umweltzentrum allgau gGmbH, GIH Gebaudeenergieberater Ingenieure Handwerker Bundesverband e.V., Oko-Zentrum NRW GmbH and ZEBAU GmbH.

The enhanced inspections are designed to ensure the energy quality of the funded projects and to prevent the misuse of grant aid.
