OREANDA-NEWS. Four Anhui-based enterprises made the 2013 list of China's top 500 private enterprises, Anhui Business Daily reported on Tuesday.

The non-state-owned companies were ranked according to their business revenues in 2012.

They posted combined business revenues of 10.5 trillion yuan (USD 1.7 trillion) last year, up 12.88 percent from a year earlier.

The total assets of the top 500 enterprises rose 15.36 percent year-on-year to 11.6 trillion yuan.

Their tax payments stood at 429.8 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 32.7 percent, but their net profit registered a 3.7 percent fall year-on-year.

Home appliance retailer Suning Commerce Group Co.topped the list, followed by Legend Holdings, parent company of the country's largest PC maker Lenovo, and Huawei Investment & Holdings Co.

The report also said that most of the top 500 firms belonged to new energy, manufacturing and hi-tech industries.

Quanwei Tongling Copper Science and Technology Co.ranked 95th, the highest spot among the four companies based in Anhui province. The other three were Anhui Guogou Investment Group Co., Anhui Yaxia Industry Co.and Anhui Huaxing Cable Group Co., ranking 208th, 378th and 471st, respectively.

However, the province lagged behind some of its West and Central China's counterparts, as Central China's Hubei province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in West China, for example, were home to 17 and 16 top 500 private companies.
