OREANDA-NEWS. In Riga, the meeting of the Baltic Council of Ministers will bring together the Prime Ministers of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The focus of the meeting - the cooperation in the fields of energy and transport infrastructure.

The Prime Ministers will also discuss the priorities of the Baltic countries in the EU's single market and in the field of climate, the cooperation in the area of culture and education, and other issues.

After the meeting, at 14:00, Valdis Dombrovskis, Andrus Ansip, Prime Minister of Estonia, and Algirdas Butkevicius, Prime Minister of Lithuania will come up with a joint statement for the media on the progress in cooperation and development plans. The press conference of the Prime Ministers of the Baltic countries will be held in the Culture Palace Ziemelblazma (36 Ziemelblazmas street, Riga).

The Baltic Council of Ministers (BCM) is an institution for intergovernmental cooperation between Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia that was established on June 13, 1994. The BCM is responsible for ensuring continuous cooperation at the countries' executive level.

Within the framework of the BCM, the Heads of Government of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia meet regularly to exchange the information on current issues, as well as to discuss the cooperation between the countries at regional level and in different international organizations. The last meeting of the Baltic Council of Ministers was held in September 2012, in Vilnius.
