OREANDA-NEWS. The International Chemical Forum, run as part of Khimia'2013 trade show, will take place on 28th - 29th October 2013. The forum is organized by the Russian Union of Chemists, Expocentre ZAO and VNIPIneft OAO.

At the past meeting of the steering committee of the exhibition and the forum Yury Slusar, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, came up with a proposal to consider a draft chemical sector development strategy to 2030.

The responsibility to design the Strategy for the Development of the Chemical and Petrochemical Sectors to 2030 was delegated to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation after the initiative had been discussed at a government session. The draft Strategy should be submitted to the government for consideration in December 2013.

The Heath, Safety and Environment Section of the Forum will address another task set by the government, that is to create favourable conditions for expanding the production and purchase of environmentally friendly (green) chemical and petrochemical products.

The forum is expected to become the principal industry event which will bring together key industry players from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine and representatives of world-leading companies and corporations. The plenary session of the Forum will feature the speeches by heads of major companies including Sibur, Nizhnekamskneftekhim, Fosagro, Eurochem, Belneftekhim and the United Chemical Company (Kazakhstan).
