OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2013. According to ANRE, gasoline prices fell by 10-25 bani per liter, diesel fuel - by 27-40 bani, liquefied gas – by 15-40 bani.

Since late October and so far four companies-importers and 11 companies having licenses for the retail sale of oil products notified ANRE on their intention to reduce prices. ANRE has reported that within the past two months, the price of gasoline imports fell from USD 1,063 per ton (the average price of imports in August 2013 ) to USD 997 per ton ( October 2013 ).

Import prices of diesel fuel decreased from USD 1,026 per ton in September to USD 993 per ton in October. Prices of liquefied gas imports increased from USD 608 per ton in July to USD 825 per ton in October. ANRE has sent information on the latest changes at the oil market for consideration of the Competition Council. ANRE reminded that, in accordance with the current law, it does not set prices at the competitive market.

They are fixed by operators of the oil products market on the basis of supply and demand and depend on many factors: the price of oil at international markets, the dynamics of the world fuel prices, the exchange rate of leu vs. USD, the size of the excise tax at the domestic market, etc. ANRE has the right to issue and revoke operators’ licenses, monitor market, including 10 % excess of profitability, provided by the methodology of calculation and application of oil products prices.
