OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2013. The increase is expected to be favoured by the cooperation agreement signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of Moldova and Hunan Moldova Wine Sales Limited Company, China, specializing in the supply of wine from Moldova to China.

The signing is said to boost the wine export from Moldova to China considerably. Agriculture Minister Vasile Bumacov noted the importance of the Chinese market for Moldovan winemakers and stressed the huge market of China may, to a large extent, solve the problem of the Moldovan wine export. For this purpose, he said, winemakers of Moldova have to deliver high-quality wine to China, which is very popular with the Chinese and may take the rightful place on there.

Vasile Bumacov called representatives of Moldovan winemaking companies to take every effort to expand cooperation with their Chinese partners to attract as more Chinese consumers of Moldovan wine as possible. Let’s remind that in 2012 Moldova exported to China alcohols amounting to USD5.75 million, nearly 1.9 times or 86.1% more than in 2011.

In Q1 2013, wine exports from Moldova to China grew 27.8% to USD 0.46 million, decreasing 20.8% to USD 1.45 million in Q2, 2013.
