OREANDA-NEWS. November 08, 2013. The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has shown courage and foresight by the starting a course of reform. This was started by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov at the regional meeting of the World Economic Forum Strategic Dialogue on the future of Ukraine.

"Very serious fundamental reforms announced by our President are implemented in Ukraine. He worked on them a long time being in opposition. After his inauguration in 2010, he began the reforms in our country," Mykola Azarov said.

He stressed that the reforms are designed as on short-term and long-term perspective. According to the Prime Minister, reforms aimed at creating favorable conditions for the development of national economy.

According to Mykola Azarov, reforms have already given real results in Ukraine. This is indicated by leading global financial institutions.

"I hope that this authoritative conference will record that was marked by the international financial institutions, including the International Monetary Fund, whose mission was recently in Ukraine and stated quite serious progress on economic recovery in Ukraine. We are also pleased that such a reputable financial institution as the World Bank in Doing Business Ranking noted a serious progress in Ukraine. Over the past two years we rise in it by forty positions and enter the four countries that have made the most decisive breakthrough in this direction," Mykola Azarov said.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Government pays great attention to the fight against the raiders.

"The raiding in Ukraine will soon be vanquished and funds all investors will be protected. This is one of the main directions of our activity," Mykola Azarov said. However, the Prime Minister stressed that Ukraine has to invest in modernization of its economy more than 160 billion euros. According to him, such means can be involved only after fundamental improvement of the investment climate.

"In order to modernize the economy of Ukraine to European standards and technical standards we are required enormous efforts and huge resources. We estimate that it is about 150-165 billion euros. Such huge amounts of money can come in Ukraine only when we actually create a favorable climate for investment. This is what our policy is aimed," Mykola Azarov concluded.
