OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2013. The first phase of the project on production of heating and hot water boilers at Navoi free industrial and economic zone, a publication of Ministry of Economy and State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, published in local media, said.

The publication said that six investment projects worth over US million are implemented at the Navoi free industrial and economic zone.

Ariston Thermo – UTG JV launched production of boilers at Navoi free industrial and economic zone. The venture was founded by Uztransgaz and Ariston Thermo Group to implement an investment project “Organization of production of modern heating and hot water boilers at the volume of 60,000 units”.

The venture plans to produce 30,000 boilers, part of which will be used at construction of habitation in rural areas.

The six more projects are implemented at Angren special industrial zone. The projects are directed at production of basic oils from used technical oil, silicon, copper pipes of various diameters, energy saving lamps, and sugar.

The work on developing and preparing documents on implementation of another 24 projects is underway.

Four investment projects are implemented at the Jizzakh special industrial zone.

The documents for implementation of 21 projects, on which agreements were signed with the Chinese companies, are developed now.

Navoi FIEZ was created in line with the presidential decree from 2 December 2012. The zone has been established on the territory of one of the most developed industrial centers of Uzbekistan, in Navoi region.

Offering foreign investors a wide range of opportunities for doing business and initially endowing them with important competitive advantages, the Navoi FIEZ provides all the necessary conditions for establishment of industrial complexes with full production cycle from raw materials to manufacturing finished goods.

Angren special industrial zone was created on 13 April 2012 in line with the presidential decree in Tashkent region. The zone will function for 30 years.

During operation of the special industrial zone, special tax regime and customs preferences will be applied in its territory. Administrative council of SIZ Angren will provide status of participant of the special industrial zone.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a decree for creation of new special industrial zone Jizzakh on 18 March 2013.

The zone was created in line with a memorandum of understanding on implementation of project on creation of Uzbek-Chinese industrial park in Uzbekistan. It was created to form favourable conditions for attracting foreign and local investments to creation of high technologic industrial capacities, production of competitive products with high added price, complex and effective use production and resource potential of Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions.

The special zone was created for 30 years with possibility of extension. The decree set tax and customs preferences for enterprises, operating in the zone. The enterprises, located in the zone, will be exempted from payment of income tax, property tax, tax for accomplishment and social infrastructure, single tax, and mandatory payments to Road Fund.

They will be also exempted from payment of customs duties for imported materials, equipment and spare parts, which are not produced in Uzbekistan.

The preferences will be provided from three to seven years based on the volume of investments. The investors will be get these preferences for three years, if they invest US0,000, five years – for investments from US to US million and seven years – for investments for above US million.
