OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2013. Deputy Head of the Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) for Control over the Authorities, Elena Rybachenko, reported to the Heads of regional Chambers of Industry and Commerce on cooperation between the antimonopoly community and non-governmental organizations representing the interests of the business community.

Elena Rybachenko уpaid special attention to FAS efforts on drafting the Standard for developing competition in the subjects of the Russian Federation and the System of monitoring and evaluating implementation of the Standard to execute the Road Map for “Developing Competition and Improving the Antimonopoly Policy”.

A part of the report focused on the work of the Competition Council, Public Advisory Councils at regional FAS Offices and Expert Councils, particularly, their role in monitoring the execution of “Road Maps” and introduction of the Standard for developing competition.

Discussing cooperation between the competition authority and the Chambers of Industry and Commerce, Elena Rybachenko also emphasized a considerable contribution of the Chambers in devising 2013-2018 FAS Actions Plan.

Participants expressed their interest in continuing cooperation with FAS through the Councils, and proposed to organize meetings of representatives of the Chambers of Industry and Commerce with experts of the Federal Antimonopoly Service on a regular basis in order to inform the business community about the plans and the results of the work of the antimonopoly authority and the novelties in the antimonopoly law.

“Informing public associations of entrepreneurs about the strategy for developing antimonopoly regulation in Russia is a necessary and mandatory form of FAS cooperation with civil society, enabling us to have feed-back and evaluate efficiency of our efforts, make well-thought decisions and choose corrective measures”, Elena Rybachenko summed up the outcome of the Conference.
