OREANDA-NEWS. Lenta Ltd (“Lenta” or the “Company”), one of the largest retail chains in Russia, is pleased to announce the opening of two hypermarkets in Voronezh and Bryansk.

Lenta opened its second hypermarket in Voronezh on November 5th, while Lenta's first hypermarket in Bryansk was opened on November 8th in the city's “AERO PARK” shopping mall. These latest new store openings increase Lenta's store count to 66 hypermarkets and 5 supermarkets in 39 cities across Russia.

The new Lenta store in Voronezh is located in the Sovetsky district's “Druzhba” shopping mall. The store has an area of 4,500 sq.m. and contains over 18,000 different food and non-food products. A total of 22 cash registers will ensure customers are served efficiently and the store also contains a car park for 340 cars. The store will be open daily from 9.00 am until 11:00 pm.

The store in Bryansk is one of the anchor tenants of the largest leisure and shopping mall in the city. The hypermarket has a total area of 11,500 sq.m, which includes a sales area of 6,800 sq.m and contains 36 cash registers. The Lenta store in Bryansk will be open 24 hours a day.

All Lenta stores are adapted to suit local communities and locations, and both the Voronezh and Bryansk stores offer goods from regional producers. A total of 456 new members of staff are being employed to help deal with Lenta's new customers in Voronezh and Bryansk.

The openings bring the total sales area for all Lenta stores to approximately 436,000 sq.m. as of November 11th 2013. Since the beginning of 2013, the Company has opened 15 new stores, including 10 hypermarkets and 5 supermarkets, to increase its total sales area by 16.0%. Lenta has now opened stores in 8 new localities, enlarging its geographic footprint to 39 cities. Lenta plans to increase its selling space by 30% during 2013 through the opening of 18 new hypermarkets and 7-10 new supermarkets.
