OREANDA-NEWS. Vale offers the Mine Equipment Operation Course in Vila de Moatize as a means of contributing to the training of young people from communities where we operate in Mozambique. The first class consists of 25 participants. The entire 18-month course includes both theoretical and practical studies.

The young participants were selected by neighbourhood community leaders and by officials from the Moatize district. If they perform well, they may be hired upon the completion of the course. Certificates were distributed at a ceremony that was attended by government and community representatives, those responsible for the students' education and Vale managers.

Cione Cristovao, one of the students in the class, thanked Vale for the opportunity to complement her training. “Here, many young people, even after finishing high school, face immense difficulties in finding technical-professional training opportunities that prepare them for employment. Here, we have this opportunity and we thank Vale for that,” he stated.
