OREANDA-NEWS. JSC “TANECO” was awarded a prestigious All-Russian award: the Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex was awarded the honorary title of the “Best Environmentally Responsible Company in the Region”.

The awarding ceremony took place in Moscow within the frame of the Russian industrial-ecological forum “RosPromEco - 2013” held in the Pillar hall of Unions on November 14 and 15 under the auspices of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the State Duma and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia.

The Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex in Nizhnekamsk had been nominated to participate in the All-Russian contest by the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Environment of Tatarstan in connection with a significant contribution of the company to ensure environmental safety in the region. TATNEFT Company had used the most advanced environmental technologies and efficient environmental solutions that meet all modern requirements in the implementation of the “TANECO” project.

This is not the first environmental award of JSC “TANECO”. In 2009, the company was recognized as the winner of the VIth “National Environment Award” All-Russian contest in the category “Urban Ecology” for the project development of a common sanitary protection zone of the Nizhnekamsk industrial hub. In 2010 the company was awarded the first place in the Republican “Ecoleader” contest in the nomination “For the implementation of technologies for collecting and processing of secondary resources, energy saving and environmentally efficient technologies” among the companies of the nationwide significance. 2012 was marked with two awards: JSC “TANECO” was recognized as one of the top 100 enterprises of the Russian Federation in the area of ecology and environmental management, and the project of an installation for treating industrial and domestic waste water, implemented in the Oil Refining and Petrochemical Complex was awarded the winner diploma of the Republican “ECOleader” contest.

The forum held in Moscow became a broad venue for discussing issues related to the environmentally oriented development of the Russian economy and rational use of natural resources
