OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2013. In line with its commitment to women empowerment and in support of outstanding initiatives for the benefit of women, Qatar Petroleum (QP) is one of the “Official Energy Partners” of the 4th Qatar International Businesswomen Forum (QIBWF), which was formally inaugurated today at the St. Regis Doha.

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, was among the keynote speakers during the inaugural session of the event, which is annually organized by the Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBA).

QIBWF 2013 is under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, Minister of Economy and Trade, and the theme of the event this year is “Arab Businesswomen as Change-Makers.” The two-day forum has attracted the participation of distinguished speakers, prominent women personalities and delegates from within the Middle East region and other parts of the world.

Apart from its role as a major sponsor of QIBWF 2013, QP is represented in the forum by over 12 female delegates from the corporation’s various directorates and departments. These include the Administration Directorate, ICT Department, Public Relations & Communications Department, Corporate Quality and Management Systems Department, Organization & Systems Department, Human Resources Department, and Finance Directorate.

QP also has an exhibition booth on the sidelines of the event, and the booth mainly showcases the corporation’s extensive operations in the oil and gas industry. In addition, it also presents QP’s newly launched corporate vision, which is “to be a world-class oil & gas corporation, with its roots in Qatar and a strong international presence.”
