OREANDA-NEWS. V Golden Talents of the Commonwealth international contest took place in Zheleznogorsk. The contest was organised as part of the agreement on social and economic partnerships between Metalloinvest and the Kursk region and Zheleznogorsk administrations. The first such contest was held in 2009, with support from Alisher Usmanov, Metalloinvest's founder. From then on, every year the event discovers new talents in music and opens up career prospects for many children and teenagers.

As always, students of music colleges, and music and art schools from 17 regions of the Central Federal District of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine participated in the contest. This year, a delegation from the Czech Republic headed by Milan Arner, a famous musician, also attended the event. The contestants competed for prizes in the following categories: Piano, Academic Signing, Wind and Percussion Instruments, and String Instruments.

Eight people from the Kursk region participated in the contest, and five of them won prizes.

On the opening day, the famous Russian and international musicians constituting the judging panel performed for the contestants and the citizens of Zheleznogorsk.
