OREANDA-NEWS. Yet another landmark in the implementation of the Carajas S11D Iron Project in Para: construction of the foundations of the processing plant building slated to house Crushing I, Crushing II and Screening, began at the end of October.

The foundations are being laid using a pile-driving process. During this phase, 337 piles are expected to be sunk, to a depth of up to 26 metres, with diameters ranging from 70 to 140 centimetres. This type of deep foundation is often used in engineering projects to transfer large loads from the system's structures and operation to the ground.

Pre-assembly of modules earmarked to complete the plant's structure is currently underway at our Southeast Para Building Site. Once assembly of the concrete modules has been concluded, they will be transported to the plant site.
