OREANDA-NEWS. The Onca Puma mine, in Ourilandia do Norte, Para, resumed ferronickel production on November 6, following reconstruction of one of the furnaces used to produce the metal. During the renovation, various improvements were introduced and several sub-systems upgraded, with the use of new refractories, the new calcine transfer system and the metal's new opening and buffering units.

Since September, the teams have been working on the furnace heating process, for the purpose of receiving the ore. The furnace is where the ore is transformed into nickel alloys contained in ferronickel.
