OREANDA-NEWS. The ZAO ”Aviastar-SP” Company successfully completed the work on the next aircraft An-124-100 “Ruslan” intended for the Defense Ministry of Russia. The aircraft had been thoroughly upgraded within the framework of the state contract.

The program aimed at restoration of the state-owned aircraft fleet contained modifications carried out according to service bulletins, upgrade of some separate aircraft elements to support and enhance the aircraft performance, to provide for operational safety and to prolong the aircraft time in service.

The main and auxiliary crew cabins as well as those for the servicing personnel had been strengthened. The aircraft hydraulic system, landing gears the forward and aft cargo holds had been thoroughly tested. The engine run as well as the aircraft fuel system test had been successfully carried out. The aircraft service life had been extended up to 27 years.

On completion of all on- ground activities An-124-100 was painted in the OOO “Spectr-Avia” aircraft painting facility to acquire the operator's colors. After that the aircraft was flown in three factory test flights and one of the operator's.

All in all, the three An-124-100 “Ruslan” aircraft ordered by the Defense Ministry of Russia had been modernized by the Ulyanovsk aircraft factory this year. All of them are being actively flown in accordance with the set state program.

The representatives of the Defense Ministry of Russia expressed their gratitude to the aircraft manufacturer for the work done in time and with good quality.

Next year, “Aviastar” is going to complete the final work stage of the state contract in order to provide modernization of two further “Ruslans”.
