OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus' chemical company OAO Grodno Azot manufactured Br8.026 trillion worth of chemical products (USD 863.926 million) in January-September 2013, up 17.5% on the year, the company said in an official report posted on the company's web site.

In October 2013 commodity output grew 24% on the year to Br792.823 billion (USD 85.341 million).

OAO Grodno Azot's mineral fertilizer production stood at 630,635 tonnes (in terms of 100% nitrogen) in January-September 2013, on par with the Jan-Sep 2012 level. In October alone nitrogen fertilizer output increased 32% on the year to 66,195 tonnes; carbamide output decreased 1.2% to 777,978 tonnes (October - up 42.5% to 91,077 tonnes).

Grodno Azot increased output of ammonium sulphate by 9% in January-September 2013 up to 327,290 tonnes; nitrosol - 640,931 tonnes (down 0.7%); ammonia - 838,393 tonnes (down 0.4%), sulphuric acid - 219,791 tonnes (up 5.8%); caprolactam - 104,898 tonnes (up 6.5%); chemical fibres - 33,966 tonnes (down 10.7%).

Grodno Azot was set up in 1963 and transformed into an open joint-stock company in 2002. The Belarusian government holds a 99.97% stake.

Grodno Azot is Belarus' main producer of liquid ammonia, nitrogen fertilizers, methanol, caprolactam, biodiesel fuel.
