OREANDA-NEWS. December 11, 2013. As it was informed in the National Bank of Moldova, in October the volume of remittances totaled USD157,78 million, or a record sum since the beginning of this year, which exceeded the indicators of October 2012 (USD 152,73 million) by USD 5,05 million, or 3.3%. The basic amount of remittances accounts for the Russian ruble.

According to the results of October 2013, it accounted for 36.3% of the total amount of remittances, followed by USD - 29,2% and EUR- 34,5%. In October 2012, the dollar's share accounted for 37.9% of the total sums transferred, euro - 35,8%, ruble - 26,3%. In January-October 2013, about USD 1 billion 173.7 million, or 89% of the total amount, were sent to the country via various fast money transfers systems compared to USD 1 billion 089,05 million (88,9%) over the same period of the last year.

The largest amount of remittances sent to Moldova this year was registered in October - USD 157,78 million and the lowest - in January - USD 98,95 million, respectively. As InfoMarket agency has informed before, the volume of remittances to Moldova from abroad via commercial banks in 2012 amounted to USD 1 billion 494,23 million, having increased by 3.5% in comparison with the previous year. The largest amount of remittances to Moldova was sent in October - USD 152,73 million and the lowest - in January - USD 81.9 million.

According to NBM, the largest amount of remittances to Moldova was sent from Russia and Italy. According to WB, remittances of Moldovan guest workers ranged from 20% to 30% of GDP. The absolute record by volume of remittances to Moldova from abroad through commercial banks was registered in 2008 - USD 1 billion 660,09 million.
