OREANDA-NEWS. American Airlines has been honored once again by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) with the highest possible ranking in the 2014 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). In 2002 with the launch of the Corporate Equality Index, American was the only airline to achieve the CEI’s perfect score, and one of only a handful of corporations to do so every year since.

The CEI is a nationally recognized benchmark that provides an in-depth analysis of America’s top workplaces and their inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees and their allies. Companies like American that earn the top CEI score of 100 percent also are named the “Best Places to Work” in the U.S.

“American Airlines has an enduring legacy which gives us all pride,” said Cindy Fiedelman, vice president - people & diversity. “Together with the leaders of GLEAM, American’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Employee Resource Group, we are committed to being a leader in equality and inclusion.”
