OREANDA-NEWS. Aeroflot took delivery of the third Sukhoi SuperJet 100 in full specification made by JSC "Sukhoi Civil Aircraft" (SCAC).

The aircraft is named after Petr Khmelnitskiy, Honored Pilot of the USSR and Honored Worker of Transport of Russia awarded with the Order of the October Revolution, of the Red Banner of Labor, and with Aeroflot Excellence insignia. Petr Khmelnitskiy organized and operated the first flights to more than 20 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia. He also trained more than 50 aircraft commanders and headed the flight attendants service (TSUMVS).

Sukhoi SuperJet 100 aircraft (registration number RA- 89017) was handed over to Aeroflot under financial lease agreement with VEB-Leasing. The jet is designed in two-class composition with 12 seats in business class and 75 seats in economy class. Maximum range is 2.400 km.

With its SSJ- 100 aircraft, Aeroflot has the opportunity to realize one of its key strategies - to build a global airline network and strengthen its leadership in the domestic air transport market. SSJ- 100 aircraft are an important part of Aeroflot's fleet, which is one of the youngest and most technologically advanced in Europe. In total, Aeroflot ordered 30 aircraft SSJ- 100.

Sukhoi Superjet 100 is a new generation regional jet designed, developed and manufactured by JSC "Sukhoi Civil Aircraft" with the participation of Alenia Aeronautica. SSJ- 100 made its first flight on May 19, 2008. In January 2011, the SSJ- 100 received its IAC AR certificate.
