OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2013. CCCC has recently won Phase 5 of Hamden Sewage Plant in Basra Governorate, Iraq, with a contract value of some 156 million US dollars. This is CCCC's second successful bid for an Iraqi sewage treatment project after Phase 4 of the plant worth 167 million US dollars.

With a designed daily treatment capacity of 150,000 tons of sewage and a construction period of 27 months, the project involves civil works such as all structures, plant roads among structures, anaerobic tank, aeration tank, final settling tank, equipment foundation and pipelines, as well as related equipment and equipment installation.

According to sources, Phase 4 and 5 of Hamden Sewage Plant in Basra Governorate, Iraq are both Iraq's key projects concerning people's livelihood. The projects can treat 300,000 tons of sewage a day after coming on stream, thus significantly reducing water environment pollution caused by industrial and agricultural production in this area. CCCC's successively winning bids for Iraqi projects will play a positive role in further promoting friendly relations between China and Iraq, and deepening CCCC's operations in the Iraqi market.
