OREANDA-NEWS. JSC Khiagda operated by ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. (JSC Atomredmetzoloto) summarized its performance results for 2013.

As compared to 2012, the company has shown positive dynamics. In 2013, JSC Khiagda produced 440 tons of uranium, which is a 38% increase against the previous year’s indicators.

According to Aleksey Dementiev, JSC Khiagda Director General, the Company’s major achievements in the current year include reducing consumption of chemical agents, e.g. sulfuric acid, by 10-27%; increasing number of personnel from 336 to 409 people; and also absence of severe emergencies or industrial injuries.

“We have managed to improve labour efficiency by more than 5% and decrease employee turnover rate by 43%. The JSC Khiagda HR Department paid maximum attention to the social sphere and development of leisure activities at the camp, including sports and cultural events. Under the voluntary health insurance programme, since recently professional medical services have been rendered in the settlement on a regular basis. So far, approximately 60% of the company’s employees made use of dental care services. Alongside, personnel on-the-job training and retraining programme has been developed and launched. For its implementation, faculty members of the Miass Geological Survey College have been engaged. Fifty-nine employees received training as hydrometallurgical operators and process well operators.
“However, it is building up a united and hardworking team that I consider as our major success of the year,” noted Aleksei Dementiev.

In 2014, JSC Khiagda plans to continue construction of the main production facility and the sulfuric acid plant. In accordance with the plan, production volume is expected to amount to no less than 440 tons of uranium.
